Small spaces may be limited when it comes to square feet, but the possibilities are plenty for maximizing their style, function and efficiency. All you have to keep in mind is whether a design offers one of the following advantages: it can be used multiple ways, it has a small space-friendly size or shape, or it includes built-in technology. Below, we explain why these features will be total lifesavers in your small space.
Loft Bed
Small living Space Example 1
Going with rule 1, multipurpose. Without a doubt, loft bed coule be regarded as the best furniture to expand your small living places as it “doubles” the place.
This is a very cleverly built small space. Since there’s no natural light, the space beneath the bed is probably used for storage. The stairs pull out as drawers.

Undoubtedly we have no questions to ask which are unanswerable. We must trust the perfection of the creation so far, as to believe that whatever curiosity the order of things has awakened in our minds, the order of things can satisfy. Every man’s condition is a solution in hieroglyphic to those inquiries he would put.
Here’s another example of loft bed for small living place.

Wall-Mounted Furniture
Small living Space Example 2
Going with rule 2, size & Space. Fully use the space in the small space is pretty enssential. In this case, the space of wall is fully use to store the books. Simple pile up the floating boards on wall and the space comes!
This is a wonderful small office. Visually, it feels pretty large but imagine yourself sitting in the chair — you could also touch both ends of the desk.

Small-Size Furniture
Small living Space Example 3
Going with rule 2, size & Space. Small furniture won’t make the small living place looks crowdy and clumsy.
This is a studio apartment Nate Berkus designed for his sister in NYC. It’s a very small space, and he really filled it with furniture, but it’s all properly scaled so it doesn’t overwhelm the square footage.
If you carefully enough, you’ll notice that all 3 tables are transparent. Transparent tables, like Acrylic tables, will make the room less crowdy visually.

Changable Space
Small living Space Example 4
A small space should not be seperated too strick as the square footage is not avaible. Sadly. However, there is a way to get this issue soloved, make the space changable.
Curtains do the trick here. It’s not very expensive to install yourself: you can install thin piping found at the hardware store in the ceiling, and hang fabric from that. While not essential, I think it’s nice to have a visual divide for the bed if you live in a studio.

Here, shelving sets the bed apart from the rest of the room. Looks like Expedit shelving units from Ikea to me.

Design Features That Will Maximize Your Small Space
1 | Multipurpose
When you’re low on square feet, it’s important to have furniture that meets multiple needs. Take the ingenious sofa sleeper. It can literally turn any space into an instant bedroom, which comes in handy when you’re accustomed to entertaining overnight guests. You can even use one in an office or playroom to create a space that works on several levels. Other brilliant multipurpose pieces include lift-top cocktail tables that reach the perfect eating, reading and working height, and room dividers that separate open areas into defined zones.
2 | Size/Shape
In any well-designed home, size, shape and proportion are key to creating a sense of balance and harmony. This is especially crucial when you’re lacking square feet. Pieces that are considered small space-friendly include counter height dining sets. Because they take advantage of vertical space, they tend to occupy less room. Some sets will even include a shelf and a Lazy Susan (bonus points), which makes entertaining an absolute breeze. Round and triangle-shaped tables and armless chairs are other size/shape great picks.
